Rebellion is gearing up to launch the first-ever VR game in the Zombie Army series, set to hit all the major VR headsets next month. Fans of the franchise can soon immerse themselves in its co-op campaign mode.
Dropping on May 22nd for Quest 2 and newer models, PSVR 2, as well as SteamVR, Zombie Army VR is ready to bring the undead-busting fun to your virtual reality headset. You’ll join the ranks of the Deadhunters, an elite team dedicated to ending the zombie apocalypse.
In the words of Rebellion, you’ll be battling through hordes of the undead around the ruined city of Nuremberg. Your mission is to assist Captain Hermann Wolff, the legendary leader of the Deadhunters, in reuniting with his dispersed family and to help free Europe from the grip of the zombie outbreak.
The game promises an engaging, story-driven campaign that you can enjoy solo or with a friend in two-player co-op mode. You’ll have access to an authentic selection of World War II weaponry—including sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols, which you can dual-wield and manually rack for a more immersive experience.
As you progress, you can earn XP to level up your Deadhunter. You’ll also be able to use Weapon Upgrade Kits to tweak and improve your weapons’ range, accuracy, and other attributes.
Zombie Army VR isn’t just about the standard shuffling hordes; you’ll face off against some of the franchise’s iconic enemies, such as Armored Giants, Suiciders, and Sniper Zombies. And in a nod to Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR released in 2021, the fan-favorite X-ray Kill Cam is back, letting you savor your long-range shots in dramatic slow motion.
Eager to dive into the fray? You can pre-order Zombie Army VR now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and higher, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam for PC VR headsets. As a treat, it’s currently available at a 10% discount off the usual $30 price tag.
