Xbox players seem to be bypassing some of the simplest achievements in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. From savoring a cornetto to bashing Nazis with a guitar, these easily overlooked achievements are slipping by players of this entertaining Xbox exclusive.
With the launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on December 9, 2024, MachineGames has brought an exciting new adventure to our consoles. Diving into the global Xbox achievement data, it seems players are missing out on some achievements that you’d think would be hard to avoid. Throughout the game, you can enhance your health and stamina by consuming various fruits and pastries scattered throughout levels. In distinct locations like Vatican City, Gizeh, and Sukothai, these items are tied to achievements.
Take Vatican City, the game’s first level beyond Marshall College, where eating a cornetto named Little Horn nets you an achievement. Surprisingly, only 34% of players have managed to achieve this. Similarly, just 22% have earned the Bread is Life achievement by eating aish baladi bread in Gizeh, and a mere 11% have unlocked Celestial Delight by munching on a star fruit in Sukothai.
Despite the abundance of these consumables, a surprisingly small number of Xbox players are earning these achievements. Little Horn is especially perplexing since it’s encountered so early in the game. Perhaps players prefer to rely on bandages rather than boosts to health and stamina, or they haven’t progressed far enough to reach the other treats.
Interestingly, on Steam, players are more proactive with these achievements: 54% have Little Horn, 39% have Bread is Life, and 22% have Celestial Delight. The discrepancy may be due to Game Pass, where players can sample the game with little commitment, leading some to move on quickly after a brief try.
One achievement, Filling in the Blanks, is a breeze, requiring only a few button presses, yet it’s unlocked by about 15% of Xbox players, compared to 28% on Steam. It’s baffling that so few have revisited a prior level to obtain this achievement.
Even in combat, some achievements could have higher unlock rates. Pest Control, requiring players to hit an enemy with a fly swatter, is at only 18% on Xbox (33% on Steam). The Right Note, for using a guitar against a Nazi, sits at 26% (43% on Steam). Lastly, the A Little Tumble achievement, for pushing an enemy off a ledge, has been unlocked by 23% on Xbox (38% on Steam).
Admittedly, these combat achievements might be trickier than simple consumables. Fly swatters, although present in most levels, aren’t easy to find, and they’re not the typical weapon choice. Guitars, however, are more prevalent and weapon-like, making their low achievement rate surprising. Opportunities to shove an enemy off a ledge are plentiful, especially in Gizeh, yet they’re often missed.
It’s clear that outside the circle of dedicated achievement hunters, these milestones aren’t a priority. Game Pass undoubtedly influences this, but it’s still intriguing why these achievements remain rare. What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments if you’ve ventured into this thrilling Xbox adventure.
