Hey, guess what? Night Dive Studios is back at it again! This time, they’re bringing us a remastered version of a cherished classic from the PS2 days: The Thing. While the original third-person shooter may not have impressed everyone with its combat, it more than made up for it with an incredible atmosphere and a one-of-a-kind AI/squad system. This system kept you on your toes, as you always had to be cautious around your NPC allies. They might just mistake you for a deadly alien in disguise. Meanwhile, as you navigated the treacherous arctic base from the iconic movie, doubts would creep in about your own squad mates. Were their strange behaviors just signs of fear or anger? Or were they actually hiding something sinister?
This innovative system injected a constant sense of tension into the original game, and now, with The Thing Remastered, the user interface and textures receive a much-needed update, allowing this spine-chilling shooter to be easily enjoyed on today’s consoles.
