3R Games, known for their work on Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street (2022), recently celebrated a significant milestone by announcing that the game has sold over 310,000 copies exclusively on Quest platforms.
The announcement, made via an X post last week, detailed that this figure includes sales across all supported Quest headsets, including the Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Pro. It’s worth mentioning that the game is also available for PlayStation VR 2 users.
According to 3R Games, these numbers reflect actual sales. With the game typically priced at $20 on Quest, the potential revenue could reach as high as $6.2 million. Of course, there have been sales occasions where the price dropped, sometimes as low as $9, as it is right now. Still, the game’s overall revenue has likely been boosted by its various paid expansion packs, ensuring that profits remain comfortably within the multi-million dollar range.
Initially launched in July 2022, Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street brings the thrill of breaking and entering to virtual reality, much like the original Thief Simulator released in 2018 by Noble Muffins.
Unlike Thief Simulator VR from 2020, developed by GameBoom VR for PC VR headsets, Greenview Street zeroes in on the specific neighborhood from which it takes its name. Since then, 3R Games has expanded the experience with a series of paid DLCs, including Richie R. Street, The Motel, and Spooky House, in addition to a variety of cosmetic skin packs. For Quest users, there’s even a bundled option that combines the base game with all DLCs, available for $23.
