Nintendo has just dropped a nostalgic bombshell—Ridge Racer 64, that beloved classic from the Nintendo 64 era, is now part of the lineup for those subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Ridge Racer 64, a gem from the early 2000s, originally brought to life by Nintendo Software Technology, has found a new home on the Switch. This classic arcade racer invites you on thrilling rides through three distinct environments, offering a total of nine adrenaline-pumping tracks. Whether you want to dive straight into the action with Quick Play, where you’ll speed through laps on the Revolution Novice course, or take on the Grand Prix for a shot at testing your prowess across any track, Ridge Racer 64 has you covered. Fancy a different challenge? Car Attack mode lets you race for better vehicles, while Time Attack pushes you to beat your personal best. And let’s not forget the joy of competition—gather your buddies for Multiplayer, trying your hand at Battle, Stage, and Team modes.
Mastering the art of drifting is where the magic happens. The race will test your skills, but those who perfect Acceleration Drifting and Brake Drifting will breeze through the tightest curves on the racetrack, shaving crucial seconds off their time—seconds that could mean the difference between taking home the win or coming in second.
When the Nintendo 64 classics debuted on the Switch Online service in late October 2021, fans were treated to nine iconic titles: Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Mario Kart 64, to name a few. And the collection has only expanded, now including favorites like Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, among others.
Nintendo has also let us in on some impressive stats—more than 34 million players have now subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online.
