It seems that a film adaptation of the newly-launched game, Split Fiction, is in the works. According to Variety, Story Kitchen is taking the reins on the project, managing everything from casting to scripting to directing. This isn’t Story Kitchen’s first rodeo; they’re also known for working on the film version of Hazelight’s previous game, It Takes Two, which is being developed in collaboration with Amazon. Additionally, they have adaptations of Toejam and Earl, Slime Rancher, and Vampire Survivors under their belt.
Rumor has it that offers are streaming in from numerous top-tier Hollywood studios, eager to get involved in this exciting venture.
Split Fiction itself hit the shelves back in March with a bang, racking up a million sales in just two days, and doubling that figure by the end of the first week. “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” Hazelight shared with joy on Bluesky after hitting that impressive second milestone.
They went on to express their gratitude, saying, “Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.”
In another exciting development, the upcoming It Takes Two movie has an interesting lineup, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on board and the scriptwriting duo of Pat Casey and Josh Miller, known for Sonic the Hedgehog, crafting the screenplay.
