In a recent YouTube teaser, OneXPlayer gave us a sneak peek at their latest gaming gadget, the Onexfly F1 Pro. This sleek device is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a member of the advanced Ryzen AI 300 series, also known as Strix Point. With a 7-inch screen, the Onexfly F1 Pro demonstrated its gaming capabilities by running Black Myth: Wukong at a smooth 50 to 60 frames per second.
The standout feature of the Onexfly F1 Pro is its cutting-edge 7-inch HDR-supported OLED display, which boasts a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Weighing in at 598 grams, this device is equipped with Harman Kardon speakers for superior audio quality. Central to its performance is the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, featuring a powerful combination of four Zen 5 cores and eight Zen 5c cores. Furthermore, it includes AMD’s latest Radeon 890M integrated GPU, utilizing the RDAN 3.5 architecture with 16 compute units. These high-performance specs make the F1 Pro a strong contender against other popular handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED, ROG Ally X, and Lenovo Legion Go.
OneXPlayer showcased the F1 Pro’s prowess by running a benchmark of Black Myth: Wukong in 1080p resolution using low-quality settings, with 65% upscaling (resulting in a resolution of 1248 x 702). Under these conditions, the device, featuring the AI 9 HX 370 processor, managed an impressive average of 58 FPS, while keeping power consumption at just 15 watts.
Interestingly, the Onexfly F1 Pro is OneXPlayer’s first foray into pairing an OLED display with AMD’s latest Zen 5 mobile CPUs. Until now, their devices have only featured earlier generations of Intel or AMD processors and non-OLED screens. Moreover, it’s set to be one of the first handhelds on the market powered by Zen 5 technology, with the GPT Pocket 4 being its main competitor sporting the same Ryzen AI HX 370.
A key difference between the F1 Pro and the Pocket 4 is design: the F1 Pro is a dedicated handheld featuring traditional grips and controls, while the Pocket 4 tries to blend roles with a 2-in-1 hybrid design incorporating a keyboard and a rotatable screen.
OneXPlayer’s benchmark tests reveal that the AI 9 HX 370 is an ideal choice for portable devices, capable of running demanding AAA games efficiently even with a moderate 15W thermal design power, promoting longer battery life. As AMD has yet to unveil the next-gen Z-series CPUs tailored for handheld gaming, manufacturers like OneXPlayer are currently utilizing the more conventional Ryzen AI 300 series laptop CPUs for their devices.
