He expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the game’s supporters, remarking, “You have no idea what this means to us.” At the time of his post, the game had amassed 326,122 user reviews, with 81.18% being positive according to SteamDB. In response to his tweet, fans of the game hailed the persistence of the developers, with comments like “the greatest redemption arc of all time.”

As the years have gone by, No Man’s Sky not only garnered glowing reviews but also witnessed consistent spikes in player activity. While these increases haven’t matched the early astonishing figure of 212,000 concurrent players at launch, they highlight Hello Games’ successful engagement strategy. The latest peak in player numbers was recorded on July 22, shortly after the release of the Worlds Part 1 Update, seeing 54,951 players log in simultaneously. The studio’s commitment to its community was also recognized at The Game Awards 2024, where it was a contender in the Best Community Support category.

In the latest string of updates, No Man’s Sky adventurers can dive into fresh Expeditions, which offer new challenges and rewards until the end of the Aquarius Expedition on February 5, 2025.
