Acer has just announced the release of six new graphics cards under the Radeon RX 9070 series banner. The lineup includes both base and overclocked (OC) models, boasting impressive boost clocks reaching up to 3.1 GHz.
Acer’s latest reveal showcases the BiFrost and Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 variations, with the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC priced at an eye-catching $829.
As one of AMD’s partners, Acer has been producing graphics cards for some time now, though they haven’t been as prominent in this role as other key AMD collaborators. This fresh release adds six models to their roster, consisting of three different variations for each card.
Within this new range, you’ll find two Nitro models for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, as well as one BiFrost edition for each. The BiFrost versions bring forward Acer’s highest quality in terms of design and thermal performance, while the Nitro series targets a broader audience without skimping on specifications.
Leading the charge, the BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB sports a sophisticated triple-fan cooling setup wrapped in a sleek shroud with stylized accents. This unit utilizes FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans alongside a counter-spin mechanism to enhance heat management. Measuring about 295 mm long and 2.5 slots thick, this card is factory-overclocked to 3.1 GHz, positioning it as a powerhouse for intense gaming sessions.
The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB mirrors its XT counterpart in design. However, it swaps out one of the three power connectors from the XT model, relying on two 8-pin connections instead. Despite this, both cards share a 340W power rating, although the RX 9070 naturally consumes less power by default. The power setup is adequate for its operation but leaves minimal room for any additional overclocking compared to the XT model.
Taking a look at the Nitro series, you’ll find both OC and non-OC models for the RX 9070 lineup. The Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC also features a triple-fan design with a boost clock peaking at 3.1 GHz, matching the BiFrost’s dimensions and power demands with three 8-pin connectors and a 340W TDP. Conversely, the non-overclocked Nitro RX 9070 XT maintains all three connectors but operates at a lower 304W. This version can achieve a maximum boost frequency of 2970 MHz, hitting 2.4 GHz during actual gameplay.
Next, there are the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB models, which top out at 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz boost counts, respectively. The OC edition draws 245W, while the standard model uses 220W, yet both cards share a consistent design scheme.
Although Acer is keeping quiet about the full pricing schedule, they have disclosed that the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB will set consumers back a hefty $829.99. It’s likely that the BiFrost editions will exceed this price point. Currently, Acer has not shared details regarding the availability of the entire range, but you can expect the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC to hit U.S. markets come April.
