John Gonzalez, well-known for his role as lead writer on Fallout: New Vegas, has made his way back to Obsidian.
Gonzalez shared the news on LinkedIn, making it clear that while he’s back at the studio, he isn’t involved in crafting Fallout: New Vegas 2. His initial stint at Obsidian spanned from 2008 to 2011, following a significant period at Ubisoft in Shanghai.
After departing from Obsidian, Gonzalez joined Warner Bros’ Monolith Productions, where he dedicated two and a half years to the role of lead narrative designer on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. His journey then took him to Guerrilla Games in the Netherlands, where he contributed to the acclaimed Horizon: Zero Dawn as narrative director. Later, he spent nearly three years working with Smilegate at their Barcelona studio.
Outside of game development, Gonzalez is set to release a novel titled God Mode: Single Player, which is slated for publication in 2025.
