Hey, Monster Hunter fans! It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since we launched Monster Hunter Wilds on the PlayStation 5. We’re absolutely thrilled by the amazing support from hunters all over the globe. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or just diving into your first hunts with Wilds, we hope you’ve been enjoying every moment and that you’re still deep into those high-rank hunts, even after watching the credits roll.
Today, I’m excited to lift the curtain on what’s coming next for Monster Hunter Wilds with our very first Free Title Update.
Let me introduce you to the elegant Leviathan Mizutsune, who’s slipping into the Wilds. This creature is as beautiful as it is deadly, dancing gracefully as it attacks foes with bubbles that pack a punch. It’s a returning favorite, and it’s bringing along some slick new armor sets for your hunter and Palico to show off. Plus, an eight-star Tempered Mizutsune will also make its debut.
If you’re looking to dive into the Mizutsune hunt, all you need to do is chat with Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, as long as your Hunter Rank (HR) is 21 or above.
Coming up, we’ve got Arch-tempered Rey Dau making an entrance in an Event Quest. So far, Tempered monsters have been the toughest nuts to crack in Monster Hunter Wilds. But with Free Title Update 1, we’re cranking up the challenge. Prepare to square off against the formidable Arch-tempered Rey Dau at HR 50 and above when it hits the scene on Tuesday, April 30. New Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) sets will be yours to forge once you best this daunting foe.
While you’re gearing up, don’t sleep on Zoh Shia. This intimidating monster returns in high rank with the Free Title Update 1. Previously, hunters were only graced with a single encounter during the main storyline, but now you can take on Zoh Shia repeatedly. Available to hunters at HR 50 and up starting April 4, this quest can be selected in the Environment Overview or could pop up during the Wyvern’s Wakening event.
The materials you get from Zoh Shia? Perfect for crafting fresh, high-rank gear for you and your Palico.
For those who enjoy gathering a crowd, welcome to the Grand Hub. It’s a spirited new locale for hunters to mingle, communicate, and take part in exclusive activities. The hub, steeped in history as a place of worship for the folks of Suja, comes alive at night with the Diva’s occasional offering songs. You can also get your game on with the new Barrel Bowling mini-game, a fun way to roll barrel bombs into targets and collect prizes such as items and pendants. You’ll need Barrel Bowling Vouchers to play, which you can snag from login bonuses and more.
Feeling hungry during your hunts? The Felynes have you covered, dishing out delicious meals in the Grand Hub. You can catch up and chill with other players around the table, making the Grand Hub a great social place.
Once you hit Hunter Rank 16, you’ll be able to access the Grand Hub by talking to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord. Your Squad Information Counter will also move here, streamlining squad management.
Arena Quests are back in Monster Hunter Wilds, where you and a buddy can test your speed with predetermined equipment. See how you rank against the world at the Expedition Record Board.
We also have limited-time Event Quests waiting, where you can score pendants based on your finishes. You’ll find Challenge Quests with set gear restrictions, along with newbies Free Challenge Quests that let anyone with gear join in, accommodating up to four players. And don’t forget about changing Alma’s outfit! We’ve added an option for that in the camp’s Appearance Menu. Completing certain side missions even lets you swap out Alma’s glasses with a new free outfit too.
There’s exciting news on the downloadable content front as well. Free DLC like Alma’s outfit and some iconic Monster Hunter gestures are headed your way via the PlayStation Store. Want more? Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will be up for grabs for those with the Cosmetic DLC Pass, bundled with the Premium Deluxe Edition or available for purchase separately.
Lastly, there’s the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, running April 23 through May 7, transforming the Grand Hub with festive decorations and seasonal goodies like limited equipment, gestures, and camp setups.
That’s just a taste of what’s coming with our first Free Title Update. We’re also ironing out some bugs and making adjustments. Plus, there’s a tease about another update in May with a Capcom collaboration and fresh features. So, prepare for this summer’s Free Title Update 2 with even more info on the way. Get ready to dive back into the hunt, and, as always, happy hunting!
