As the night crept closer to the much-anticipated update, gamers were still glued to their Xboxes, enjoying their late-night adventures. Then suddenly, as if on cue, a notification appeared on their screens. A system update was available, bringing a welcome surprise to all. Packed with fixes and fresh features, players were able to jump right back into slaying in-game foes in no time.
Hey there, Insiders! We’ve got a quick but festive community update coming your way. First things first, we want to wish everyone a joyous holiday season and a safe entrance into the new year! Despite my personal aversion to the chilly and dark season, it’s impossible to deny that this time of year brings opportunities for cozy sweater weather and the perfect excuse to hunker down and dive into some Xbox fun.
In keeping with tradition, our team has hit pause on releasing preview builds on both console and PC to ensure everything runs smoothly for your holiday gaming sessions. Rest assured, we’re still hard at work on future updates, and we’re here to tackle any issues that might crop up. Make sure you keep an eye on the Insider Hub for fresh content throughout December and January!
### From Our Team to You
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each member of this incredible community. I feel genuinely honored to be involved with the Xbox Insider Program, and your support means the world to us. Before wrapping up, I reached out to a few team members to find out what they’ve been up to during this busy month, whether it’s gaming, unwinding, or indulging in any other activities worth sharing. Here’s their scoop:
Jon shared his mission to complete both “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” and the “Ode to Castlevania” DLC for “Vampire Survivors.” Joshua is excited about revisiting classic holiday movies and diving into “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.” Tim confessed his penchant for challenging games, sharing that he’s playing through “Nine Sols” and eagerly anticipating spending time with family arriving from afar. Donovan is all about “Path of Exile 2” this month, while also cherishing moments with family and revisiting nostalgic holiday films to amp up the festive spirit. Sally’s plans include devouring a mountain of cookies, enjoying cozy games, and hoping for new PowerWash Simulator DLC, alongside quality time with loved ones.
Then there’s Leland, who has a unique approach to gaming: throughout the year, he adds compelling story-driven games to his list, limiting it to just two at a time. Come mid-December, he disconnects from everything else to fully immerse himself in these stories. This week is a cherished tradition for him, offering a rare window of genuine escapism that he eagerly anticipates each year.
As for me, I’ve just wrapped up the Black Ops 6 camo grind, so now it finally feels like I can dive into playing it properly! I’m also determined to wrap up the achievements for “Aliens: Dark Descent” and stay warm as I battle Jack Frost to prevent my geese’s pond from freezing—a recurring winter challenge.
And what about you? We’d love to hear what gaming adventures you’re embarking on or what plans you have for this holiday season. Drop by our subreddit and join the conversation under the December Community update post — it’s pinned right at the top. I’ll be checking in throughout the month as ScantilyCloud, ready to chat and answer any questions you might have. Plus, feel free to share any game recommendations for 2024—our gaming backlogs can never be too extensive!
