Cyberpunk 2077, the ambitious science fiction RPG, has reached an incredible milestone with over 30 million copies sold worldwide. This achievement was unveiled by CD Projekt’s chief financial officer, Piotr Nielubowicz, in a recent financial update reported by VGC. This update covered the company’s performance for the three-month period ending in September.
In addition to this impressive figure, the game’s expansion, Phantom Liberty, has also made waves, selling more than eight million units. This further cements the franchise’s popularity and its significant impact on the gaming world.
Looking ahead, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to expand its reach by launching on Mac devices in the near future. Excitingly, fans can also look forward to a new animation project based on the Cyberpunk universe, which is currently in development.
Nielubowicz shared a few words straight from the heart of Night City, saying, “We’ve seen Cyberpunk 2077 exceed 30 million copies sold, while Phantom Liberty has achieved sales of eight million. These figures are nothing short of remarkable, highlighting the extensive fanbase and unwavering interest in the Cyberpunk universe.”
He continued, “This success is particularly important as we’ve recently announced that the game, along with its expansion, will be making its way to Mac devices equipped with Apple Silicon chips next year.”
On top of that, Nielubowicz expressed his excitement for the upcoming animation project set in the Cyberpunk universe, adding, “We’re thrilled to be bringing this new project to Netflix fans.”
