With cross-play now in the mix, gamers can team up across all the platforms the game is available on. Whether you’re on a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Windows, or Mac, you can seamlessly join the action. Plus, there’s an exciting photo mode that’s been introduced, offering a range of camera, lens, and scene settings. You’ll be able to tweak post-processing effects, frames, and stickers to capture your squad in the best possible light—whether you’re aiming for something cool, adorable, or downright intimidating.
On top of that, every class in Baldur’s Gate 3 is getting a fresh subclass option as players level up. For example, the Bards can now opt for the College of Glamour, which enhances their ability to heal teammates and enchant foes. Meanwhile, Monks can choose the Drunken Master subclass, which cleverly lets them boost their skills by knocking back a few drinks from their inventory.
Here’s the complete lineup of these new subclasses paired with their original classes. While Larian Studios, the brains behind Baldur’s Gate 3, hasn’t pinned down an exact release date for Patch 8 just yet, they’re gearing up for a stress test in early January where players can preview these updates first-hand. They’re planning to release more details on how to participate soon.
Though they’ve been open about what lies ahead—they’re not working on Baldur’s Gate 4 nor expanding Baldur’s Gate 3 with downloadable content—it’s clear Larian Studios is determined to close the chapter on this 2023 Game of the Year with sheer brilliance.
