2K Games has decided to remove its game launcher from all the titles it has released on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
In an announcement last month, the company shared its plans to gradually phase out the launcher technology by November. They also mentioned the removal of a beta version of this program from Sid Meier’s Civilization 5.
“We’ve handled most of the transition process, but there may be one final step left for you. To ensure everything runs smoothly, try fully closing Steam—not just minimizing it by clicking the X—and then reopen it,” 2K detailed in a recent blog post.
“For Epic users, make sure your game is updated to the latest version,” they advised, adding some practical tips for gamers.
2K also reassured players that games like BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, BioShock Infinite, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns would now start up directly when you hit play, eliminating the need for the extra launcher step.
