With Street Fighter 6 announced for Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Switch 2, folks are already deep into comparing the graphics to its PS4 and PS5 counterparts. A newly-released video shows some promising potential for the visuals, indicating that the Switch 2 might just deliver remarkable graphics for a handheld.
After the big Nintendo Direct event focused on the Switch 2 on April 2, Nintendo hosted two Treehouse sessions over the next couple of days. These presentations mostly aimed to highlight launch titles for the new console, one of which includes Capcom’s Street Fighter 6.
YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits jumped into action by collecting a treasure trove of showcased footage to pit the Switch 2 version against the PS4 and PS5 editions. Their 15-minute comparison video suggests that the Switch 2 version sits between its PS4 and PS5 siblings when it comes to graphical quality.
A closer look reveals the PS5 version boasts slightly more intricate lighting and clearer textures, though this detail shines through mostly when you’re really scrutinizing the pixels. On the whole, Street Fighter 6 looks set to be a standout display for the Switch 2’s capabilities, which match what one might expect from a modern handheld device. Capcom has already confirmed that the game hits a stable 60 frames per second on this next-gen Nintendo hardware, aligning with other available versions. Whether this smooth performance extends to the World Tour Mode—locked at 30 fps on PS4 while running at 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S—remains a mystery.
In a fun twist, the Switch 2 edition of Street Fighter 6 will come loaded with exclusive new features. This includes Calorie Contest, a mode that pits two players in a battle to burn the most calories, and Gyro Battle, which challenges players to execute the game’s myriad combos using the Switch 2’s gyro controls.
Street Fighter 6 is among 20 launch titles confirmed for the Switch 2, alongside Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Hitman: World of Assassination, Mario Kart World, Deltarune, and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. There’s also Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut, plus updated Switch 2 editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The Switch 2 is set to hit shelves on June 5, with an initial U.S. price tag of $449.99. However, recent tariffs on Japanese products might see this cost rise.
