Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, recently addressed concerns over potential risks on the platform, suggesting that if parents have reservations, they should feel free to keep their kids off Roblox entirely.
In a conversation with the BBC, Baszucki, who co-founded the service, emphasized his stance that even a single negative experience on the platform is one too many. “If you’re feeling uneasy, my advice would be straightforward: don’t let your kids play on Roblox,” he stated. “It might seem counter-intuitive, but I have great faith in parents making the best choices for their children.”
When questioned about reports highlighting negative experiences and the misuse of the platform by malicious individuals, Baszucki explained, “At our company, we treat any adverse incident with utmost seriousness. Whether it’s bullying or harassment, we monitor everything closely. We’ve implemented filters and, if needed, we don’t hesitate to involve law enforcement.”
These comments come as the company is making strides to enhance its child safety features, following various reports concerning the misuse of Roblox by bad actors.
