Ubisoft, the well-known French publisher, has expressed its disappointment over the recent leak of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
In a heartfelt message on the official Assassin’s Creed subreddit, Ubisoft urged those lucky enough to have snagged an early copy to keep the thrilling details under wraps for everyone else’s sake. Although the game is slated for release on March 20th, there are reports of eager fans managing to snag a copy ahead of time. Some have gone as far as spending up to $100 on auction sites, according to discussions on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit.
“We understand that some players have already gotten their hands on Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its official launch,” Ubisoft acknowledged.
“Our development team is hustling to finalize patches to ensure the game is in top shape for release day, so any videos or images circulating now may not do the final product justice.”
Ubisoft further noted, “Leaks are unfortunate and really can take away from the thrill and anticipation for other players. We kindly request that you refrain from sharing spoilers. We truly appreciate our community’s efforts to shield others from unwanted surprises.”
The post wrapped up on an optimistic note: “Stay stealthy, dodge those spoilers, and make sure to follow our channel for exclusive announcements over the next few weeks. March 20 is just around the corner!”
