Sony Reveals Top Downloaded PSVR 2 Games of 2024

Sony recently shared its yearly summary of the most downloaded games across its PlayStation platforms for 2024. Looking at the data, it’s clear there hasn’t been much change since PSVR 2’s debut year, which isn’t exactly surprising.

As PSVR 2 approaches its second anniversary, some individuals feel that Sony’s VR headset, tied to the PS5, hasn’t received the same love and devotion as the original PSVR. Complaints center around the scarcity of exclusive games and dedicated developer support. However, die-hard fans would argue otherwise.

The PSVR 2 is undeniably a robust piece of gear. It empowers developers to achieve higher visual fidelity and intricate graphics, even surpassing Meta’s Quest 3. Additionally, players can dive into PC VR titles thanks to a wired adapter Sony introduced last June. Yet, the real test lies in which games people are downloading from the PlayStation Store.

In 2024, we saw a couple of new entries claim spots on the list, namely Vertigo Games’ Metro Awakening, which launched in November, and Urban Wolf Games’ Legendary Tales, which entered its full release in February. Given their release timelines, it’s impressive they’ve climbed the ranks so quickly.

Still, not everything is as it seems. Arizona Sunshine 2 by Vertigo Games rolled out in December 2023, naturally, it had little chance to make an impact in that year’s list.
