In Synth Beasts, you’re thrown into the thrilling life of a Synth, an experiment gone awry, who manages to break free from a lab on a mysterious island. As you venture across the surrounding archipelago, you come across other Synths. Unfortunately, these aren’t exactly welcoming, so you’ll need to engage in battles to triumph over them. Defeating these foes allows you to play as them and harness their unique powers for combat and exploration.

As you engage your Synths in battles, they accumulate experience points and reach higher levels. Each Synth progresses through five levels, each providing distinct bonuses that make them stand out. As they advance, gaining further experience becomes tougher, so mixing up your team regularly is crucial to unlocking more abilities and getting the most out of your battles!

Take, for instance, the “Psitek” Synth. Right from the start, it can ignite torches. By the time it hits level three, it gains a powerful fire slash that can obliterate projectiles, a handy tool for tackling certain dungeons. Yet, after this point, most of its improvements tend toward combat enhancement. So, it might be wise to switch to another Synth if you’re looking to gain new abilities with fewer experience points!

Early on, you’ll snag a boat that was once used by the scientists—a perfect tool for your exploration! The Genesis Archipelago is brimming with smaller islands, all hiding valuable bonuses like extra health, items that enhance stats, and currency for shopping. If you aren’t one for meticulous exploration, feel free to skip straight to the main islands where you can directly challenge the scientists and disrupt their shady undertakings.

Main islands feature formidable boss Synths, but don’t overlook the optional ones, as they can hold their own share of challenges. Capturing all of the over 40 Synths is no simple task, but each hidden corner of the archipelago promises worthwhile rewards for those who seek them out!
