Winking Studios, a leading outsourcing company in the Asian triple-A gaming sector, has recently announced its acquisition of the Chinese firm Mineloader. This deal, valued at £16.3 million or approximately $19.87 million, involves an immediate payment of $14.7 million. The remaining sum will be distributed over the next five years contingent on Mineloader hitting specific performance targets.
Founded back in 2003, Mineloader has carved a niche for itself as a prominent art outsourcing developer. Reflecting on this significant acquisition, Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios, expressed his enthusiasm: “This is our most substantial acquisition to date and a crucial move that strengthens our foothold in the global video games industry, paving the way for future growth and innovation.”
Jan elaborated on the importance of game art in video game development, describing it as the visual core and creative spark that captivates players and shapes their experience. He highlighted that with Mineloader’s impressive history and expertise in game art production, their team of over 460 professionals will be an invaluable addition to Winking Studios’ already robust workforce of more than 800. This collaboration is set to enhance their service range and attract new clients. Additionally, Mineloader’s established reach and experience in the Japanese market are seen as significant assets to Winking Studios’ existing business networks.
