This has been quite the week for Razer at CES, with the company rolling out some exciting new additions. From expanding its RGB ecosystem to unveiling a fresh take on PC Remote Play and introducing a dock designed for gaming handhelds, they’ve been on a roll. Add to that list the Razer Iskur V2 X, a gaming chair that retains the luxurious appeal of its predecessor but at a significantly reduced price. While the Razer Iskur V2 retails at $649.99, the V2 X offers a lot of the same flair for considerably less.
Razer’s journey with the Iskur series began back in 2020, and since then, they’ve turned out the updated Iskur V2 and various other models, many of which have been met with high praise. The V2 X is Razer’s attempt to blend the richness of the high-end Iskur V2 with a more budget-friendly approach, albeit with some compromises.
The Iskur V2 X sticks to the family look, offering that classic tilt and recline up to 152°, just like its pricier counterpart. It shares a similar weight capacity too, supporting up to 136 kg (or 299 lbs). But here’s where the differences begin to surface. The V2 X uses 2D armrests in place of the Iskur V2’s 4D variety, operates on a butterfly mechanism rather than a frog mechanism, and is covered in durable multi-layered fabric as opposed to synthetic leather. Though it does provide lumbar support, it’s engineered differently compared to the one you’d find in the V2. Plus, the color options are pared down to black, and if you want a head cushion, you’ll need to buy that separately.
However, these changes bring the price point down quite dramatically. The Iskur V2 X is priced attractively at $299.99, making it a cost-effective option for gamers looking for high-quality seating without breaking the bank. Preorders are already live on Razer’s website, and based on my exploration, shipping is projected between January 17, 2025, and January 21, 2025.
Just a quick heads-up: Both the Iskur V2 X and the V2 share the same product page. If you attempt to select attributes exclusive to the V2, like certain color options, the page will automatically shift you back to the premium Iskur V2 setup.
