The "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024" is an exciting online event hosted on the Nintendo Switch’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate platform. Organized by Nintendo of Europe SE, this event brings together players from across Europe for some thrilling competitive action.
Event Details
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, when this event kicks off from 18:00 to 20:00 (CET) – that’s 17:00 to 19:00 in the UK. It’s open to a wide list of participating countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and many more across Europe. However, due to potential connectivity issues, players in remote regions like the Azores may face restrictions.
How to Join
Want to join in? You’ll need a Nintendo Account set to one of the eligible countries, along with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Don’t stress over the type of membership – both paid subscriptions and free trials will do. Once you have access to the game, head to the main menu, click on “Online,” then “Official Tourney Qualifiers” to dive into the action.
Scoring System
Throughout the event, competitors aim for the highest Tourney score – a measurement of skill based on match results. This unique scoring system takes into account the scores of your opponents, offering a dynamic way to showcase your prowess. Feel free to continue gaming throughout the event to boost your score, as matches started during the event period will be counted even if they conclude afterwards.
Winners and Prizes
At the end of the event, the top 10 players will each win 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points. Those finishing in the top 100 will not leave empty-handed either, as they will earn 1,000 points each. However, if a participant changes their settings to a non-participating country or breaks any rules, they’ll be disqualified, and potentially face further account penalties. Unfortunately, prizes can’t be exchanged for cash or other equivalents.
Prize Distribution
Nintendo plans to credit winners’ accounts with Gold Points within a couple of weeks following the event’s conclusion. To see your prize, simply log into your account and check the My Nintendo Point Log.

Remember, participation is subject to the Nintendo Account Agreement and Privacy Policy, as well as the Terms of the My Nintendo Rewards Programme.
