Elden Ring, the action-packed RPG, has reached an impressive milestone, having sold over 28.6 million copies. This news comes from Bandai Namco, the game’s publisher, who shared this achievement alongside the exciting announcement of a new multiplayer-themed spin-off, Nightreign, during The Game Awards last week. The sales figures are updated through the end of September.
Back in June, the official sales figures showed Elden Ring had already sold 25 million copies. In the months since, an additional 3.6 million copies have found their way into gamers’ hands. This surge in sales is likely thanks to enticing discounts and the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion earlier in the summer.
Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners highlighted on Twitter that this latest accomplishment means Elden Ring alone has surpassed the entire Dark Souls series in sales. Since its debut in 2011, the Dark Souls franchise has sold 27 million copies.
