Bungie has launched a fresh update for Destiny 2, heralding the onset of the beloved winter celebration known as The Dawning. Alongside this festive addition, they’ve tackled several bug issues, such as the problematic Tonics. Though players are eagerly awaiting the final chapter of Episode Revenant, Bungie remains committed to ensuring the game runs smoothly.
Over time, Episode Revenant has faced its share of bugs, which have sometimes dampened the gaming experience. While some, like the damage buff for Sentinel Shield Titans, seem minor, other glitches have significantly disrupted gameplay. For instance, weapon tonics, intended to boost loot drop rates from the Tomb of Elders, weren’t functioning properly. This issue prompted players to bring it to Bungie’s attention.
Thanks to the proactive gaming community, Bungie confirmed the problem with the tonics boosting drop rates for incorrect weapons. Fortunately, they swiftly addressed this with Update 8.1.5.1, which rolled out with the Destiny 2 weekly reset. This update not only fixed the Legendary Tomb of Elders Weapon Tonics bug but also clarified some in-game descriptions related to various armor sets.
Among other tweaks, the update reworked the Hunter’s exotic armor, Raiju’s Harness. As per the patch notes, its super energy gain rate was enhanced for taking down most Arc-debuffed foes, except for minibosses and bosses. A point to note: those using Gathering Storm will notice reduced energy returns, down by 80% from before.
Another highlight of this update is the opening of The Dawning, Destiny 2’s yearly winter festivity. This event invites players to gather ingredients and bake cookies for NPCs. New this year is the Mistral Lift, a Void linear fusion rifle, along with Astral Stasis Drake armor sets, and a community challenge that offers three rare emblems as rewards.
